This article considers modern forms of international terrorism and their impact on Russia’s security. Special attention is paid to key terrorist groups, such as ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) and Al-Qaeda, which pose a serious threat to global and national security. New forms of threats are also detailed, including cyberterrorism, which actively uses the Internet to coordinate attacks and radical propaganda to influence minds and recruit new supporters. The impact of international terrorism on Russia’s internal and external security is analyzed. In particular, threats in border regions such as the North Caucasus and Central Asia, where radical elements and potential hotbeds of instability are active, are considered. In addition, Russia’s countermeasures are discussed, including legislative initiatives, intelligence services, increased oversight, and the country’s participation in international anti-terrorist coalitions. In conclusion, recommendations on strengthening security measures and effective counteraction to modern terrorist threats are offered.

The article deals with the history of creation and analysis of testing of parachute-cargo system PGS-500, new methods and problematic issues of cargo landing. The results of the research on the effectiveness of the universal parachute system (UPP) for landing in emergencies, including in the Arctic zone, are described. The analysis was carried out with the help of traditional document analysis (TAD). With the help of the TAD method the problems were identified in connection with the increase of natural accidents, namely insufficiently effective activity of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia to reduce the number of emergencies compared to last year. Based on the analysis, proposals were developed to solve the identified problems. Nowadays there is an increasing need to use parachute-loading system in emergency situations to rescue and help people, as well as to prevent dangerous situations. The material of the article can be used in scientific research.

The article is devoted to the consideration of the specifics of terrorist threats in the Russian Federation, which worsened during the special military operation from February 24, 2022 to April 2023, and also outlines a set of measures to counter these threats.

In the context of increasing security of the existence of modern human civilization in the Russian Federation, counteraction to international terrorist forces is increasing. For this purpose, the consolidation of efforts of state authorities, the public, and business representatives is increasing to address the existing threat.

One of the key modern problems is terrorism in general and extremism in particular. Nowadays extremism has become actively manifested through various religious, political and nationalistic movements, serving as one of the ways of forceful solution of many acute issues. Appearing openly from time to time, it threatens the stability of the global society, as globalization has spread regional risks to the international level. Today, extremism knows no borders, language, gender, nationality or religion, posing a real danger to the national security of any state. Political leaders of many countries of the world are already working on involving their armed forces in the fight against terrorism and extremism. This emphasizes the importance and relevance of the topic at hand. Therefore, this article will be devoted to the actualization of tasks that are assigned to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to counter extremism and terrorism in modern conditions.

The article explores how the use of advanced technologies in the economic sphere and strategic financial investments can significantly enhance counter-terrorism efforts. The article discusses the integration of trends in the development of digital tools such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics to identify and address potential threats of terrorist attacks. The article also emphasizes the importance of disrupting terrorist financing through improved financial legal regulations and monitoring systems. To do so, the author analyzes areas of investment in cybersecurity, surveillance technologies, and data management systems, emphasizing their importance in preventing terrorist acts. It also emphasizes the role of international cooperation, facilitated by digital platforms, in sharing information and resources. The economic benefits of digitalization are considered, as promoting economic stability and development in vulnerable regions can reduce the appeal of extremist ideologies. The holistic approach necessary to effectively counter terrorism is emphasized, combining technological advances, strategic investments, government regulation, and international cooperation to create a more secure global environment.

The article studies the reasons why young people are the most susceptible stratum of the population for recruitment into terrorist groups. The author proposes patriotic university evenings in the format of an open microphone as an effective tool for educating young people in order to reduce terrorist threats. The author emphasizes that such events create a space for open dialogue between students and professors, where participants can share personal stories, memories and reflections on patriotism. The themes of the evenings proposed by the author aim to strengthen young people’s connection to their country’s history and culture, thus fostering a sense of unity and responsibility. Thus, the author argues that patriotic evenings can become an important element in the system of youth education, contributing to the creation of a safer and more cohesive social environment.

In the current politico-military environment, international terrorism threatens nuclear-hazardous facilities, which may lead to radioactive contamination of vast territories. In this regard, it is necessary to conduct vulnerability analysis of nuclear hazardous facilities and a corresponding methodology has been developed for this purpose. The essence of the methodology is that the vulnerability analysis of nuclear hazardous facilities should be carried out according to the following stages: a working group is created to conduct the analysis; a program for conducting the analysis is developed; information is collected for the analysis; threats are identified; possible consequences of the intruder’s actions and the vulnerabilities of nuclear hazardous facilities are determined. The developed methodology makes it possible to qualitatively assess the effectiveness of the protection being created and the improvement of the existing protection, which, in turn, will be able to withstand all possible threats and ensure safe operation of the nuclear-hazardous facility.

The article examines the phenomenon of information terrorism, which has become a serious threat in the context of the rapid development of information technology and digital communications. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the causes of information terrorism, its main manifestations and methods, such as the spread of disinformation, cyber attacks and manipulation of public opinion through social networks. The article presents examples of information attacks carried out in various regions of the world, including interference in elections and information campaigns aimed at destabilizing the political and economic situation. A methodology for quantifying the effectiveness of information terrorism is presented, including key indicators such as the intensity of information campaigns, changes in public opinion, and others. The proposed methodology makes it possible to measure the impact of information terrorism and evaluate effective measures to counter it.

The implementation of digital twin in the seaport system is considered. Methodological construction of digital twin of the port, it is offered to carry out on model of comparison of construction of digital twin of a smart city, both on functional importance, and on requirements and characteristics. The analyses of various processes and characteristics of ports have identified the main requirements for a digital twin of a port. These include situational awareness, comprehensive data analysis capabilities for intelligent decision making, and the provision of an interface to facilitate multi-stakeholder management and collaboration. Given the port system’s relationship to a critical element of transport infrastructure, the use of a digital twin can increase the security of infrastructure facilities, buildings and structures. Operational scenarios are proposed on how a port’s digital twin can improve operational efficiency and counter external influences and threats.

In the context of globalization and the economic interconnection of countries, the terrorist threat is becoming more complex and multi-layered and requires effective and adaptive assessment and management methods. The focus is on the macroeconomic situation, globalization, its role in international trade and terrorist financing, as well as other cross-border financial flows and illicit trade. An analysis will be conducted of how economic instability, social inequality and global networks affect the activities of terrorist organizations and how these factors should be taken into account when developing methodological approaches to assessing and predicting terrorist threats.

The modern world faces many challenges, one of which is the threat of terrorist activity. In the conditions of globalization and information openness, when extremist ideas can quickly spread through the Internet and social networks, patriotic education of young people is of special importance. The formation of patriotic feelings not only contributes to the strengthening of national identity, but also plays an important role in the prevention of radicalization among the younger generation, reducing the risk of involvement of young people in terrorist and extremist organizations. This topic became relevant after the events of 2022, when the unity of the people began to play a decisive state-forming role.
